Week 12
Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati

What can you say about this game? It's a game that the Steelers should definitely win, but will they? We all thought they would blow the Browns away, but it didn't happen. The Bengals are every bit as bad as the Browns, if not worse. So just what does all this mean? It means, defensively the Steelers should be able to handle the Bengals, provided they can contain Darnay Scott and Carl Pickens. On offense, it's a different story. The Steelers at this point in time are having problems just getting out of their own way, much less challenging an opposing defense. Look for a low scoring game with the Steelers winning 17-10. Key thing to watch - look for Cowher to have a very short leash on Kordell Stewert in this game. If Stewert struggles early in this game, he will be gone.

Bite the Bullet

Let me point out that I am a die-hard Steeler fan that has followed the team through the best and worst of times. This next game against the Bengals does present us with the opportunity to play some guys for next year. Amos Zereoue and Malcolm Johnson come to mind. These guys should have been playing some by this point on an offense that quite simply could use some new guys. Troy Edwards may be a diamond in the rough. Consistancy is all this young great lacks and he is developing nicely. At this point, he is the only threat to score we have. Jevon Kearse fans are even admitting that this kid was STILL our pick in the last draft. He should start. I have seen Pete Gonzalez play even in college and I cannot believe he is still on the team. They should give him a few series on Sunday just to see if we should hang on to him. I hate to think that we are playing for next year but that is about all we have to look forward to at this point. My sadistic side wants us to lose on Sunday because Bill Cowher said that he would make changes if we cannot win against the Bengals. I have overlooked the free agents on the team and the only ones worth considering to re-sign are Emmons, Roye and Oldham. The rest couldn't start anywhere else. Is it too early to think about the draft???

Now we find out what kind of fans we are. At 5-5, 11-5 is still in reach. We can do this... give it to the BUS. I still like our chances. This team will not quit again. At worst, we finish a great 10-6 considering the circumstances...

Through thick and thin, I will always be a Pittsburgh Steeler fan, but.... I have no pre game comments. IT'S NOT WORTH THE EFFORT ANYMORE!!!
